Re: Top FC Horseback GSP Lines?

Thanks for all the info. I am in the market for a dog with lots of run, brains and hopefully a great nose as well. I have a lot of good leads to follow up on. Would be nice to find something around Michigan.

Top FC Horseback GSP Lines?

I need some help finding some of the top winning horseback german shorthair pointer lines that are currently being ran and bred today. I am in the market for a very well bred female pup and don't really know where to look. I would like to find some in the midwest if possible. Any help would be great...

Re: Too close to breed?

I'm no expert on pedigrees but I have run against Scott and Fritz many times over the years here in Michigan. Fritz was one heck of a NSTRA dog. I have a buddy that just bred his Fritz female to a fritz male, should be one heck of a good breeding. IMO you have a very good chance of producing very ni...

No problem here in SE Michigan. I raise coturnix quail for my own personal training needs and to sell. In about a month I will have unlimited coturnix quail for sale and should have them until the fall. Also should have pigeons to sell through out the spring and summer.

That is not all that far fetched a senairo! I know of one dog in the NSTRA Hall of Fame that seldom got mor4e than about 50 yds from it's handler. There is so much scent from horses in a field trial that the dogs would just run a loop with no birds. Well, same thing for the quads in the field. IMO you either need to catch him in the act and correct him or have the e-collar on him as much as possible. Either way the correction needs to be done at time of escape or the dog will have no clue what he is being corrected for.

Sounds like your pup is coming along nice. At this age you need to be careful not overdoing it with the birds. Everything can turn around in a hurry and put you a few steps back in one training session. At what age to you plan on heel and whoa breaking your dog?
