Re: My dogs Kennel

Started out buying a hay bale and adding hay as needed for insulation, but didn't want to mess with hay anymore, so I stapled spare squares of carpet to the bottom and sides of the kennel. She tore them apart in about a day, so I just ended up stapling a rubber mat to the wooden floor. Seems to work...

Re: Pink Hunting Gear

Hey, I'm that fella, but she picked it out herself over the wood and black synthetic. The only thing I chose was the model 870. My wife makes my female shorthair wear a purple collar.

Re: youth shotgun

+1 on the 870. I just got one for my wife. She is only 5'2 so I got her the pink camo 20ga. All of the youth guns we looked at were 20ga. I also thought the mossberg felt kinda cheep. Also the 870 comes with adjustable length of pull so you can increase it as your son gets older/bigger until he is b...

Re: GSP line traits

My first was out of Hustler lines and she was short and bulky. She could go all day at a decent pace and would run through anything. Great natual retriever. Tough dog and great pet. First dog-had to put down at 14, don't think I will ever have a "better" one. My second has clown/dixieland/desert dut...

GSP line traits

Just wondering people's opinions on the different GSP lines. Clown/Hustler/Slick/etc... What dogs were known for producing certain types of pups? Good pets vs Race horses...any other traits.

Re: Collar questions

I have heard mixed opinions about Sportdog collars. I bought a Dogtra 7100H last year, couldn't be happier with it. It's not necessary, but I like the remote vibrate feature when any of the buttons is pressed (can be turned off). Don't know where you live, but in the cold Iowa winters, I am wearing ...

105 CTI

Hey, I just inherited a 105 CTI from my uncle. I have read they had a few problems, but I'm not sure what they were. It has never been shot or even put together. It's still in the case he bought it in. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with the guns.

Never done it before. What does that all entail (price/commitments)?

Yeah, Allamakee stands for the county I grew up in. I'm in grad school in Des Moines now, but would like to get back up there after I graduate. I just joined a gun dog club down here though and having a blast, would recommend it to everyone.

Hi, I am 23, and have a 1.5 year old GSP. She is my second shorthair. My childhood dog past away last fall at 13, she was a once in a lifetime dog. My new shorthair Nova is the first dog I have (still in the process of) trained myself. She now has one year of wild Iowa ringnecks (or should I say rin...
