Eye Goo?

Noticing lots of eye secretion in the past few weeks. And past week or so it has been dark not clear and at both ends of his eyes. Its viscous and sticky and I'm wondering if it sounds like potential allergies? or something that maybe else...

Northern Colorado Pheasant ?

Hey all, I am trying to plan a general location east of the northern front range to hit up once the season opens in a few weeks. Young pup has been doing really well on some farm raised phez and I want to get out and see what he can do on some wild birds. Obviously not expecting your secret spots, b...

Re: scared of water?

Thanks for the replies guys! as far as a force fetch program goes I have not looked into it very deeply. Any recommendations for a drama queen who needs the softest approach ? (he once forgot which foot had a torn pad and was caught limping on the wrong foot for attention...)

scared of water?

So my adopted Britt is 17 months and has been doing great. He is whoa broke, good on recall and has an excellent natural retrieve. I noticed over the summer that he is just straight terrified of sprinklers, dragging me across the street to get away from the spraying water. I eased him into being les...

Doves?

So while running pup this morning, (15 month Brittany) we ran into several large coveys of Doves. He was overwhelmed by numbers, but he did manage to point a few when he could get downwind of the scent. He was also running the back sides of hedge rows and kicking lots of birds right into my shooting...

Re: Beer?

Anyone have recommendations for good gluten-free beers ? Going gluten-free has been tough for me as a beer lover since wheat/barley/hops=gluten. I tried Bard's , which I was not fond of. I also tried New Planet Off-Grid Pale Ale and LOVED it, but at $9.25/4 pack, there's gotta be a better option. S...

Front Range?

So all the details yet to be worked out, but looks like the girlfriend and I are moving to Fort Collins CO in August. Pretty excited, been wanting to move west since I was a kid. Does anyone hunt the front range north of Denver? We have a Britt pup that we adopted this spring hes just a year now and...

Re: Gun advice

Have to 2nd or 3rd? not sure how many others already recommended, but Ruger Red Label hands down. Find one in like new on gunbroker for close to $1k in 12 20 or 28 gauge. They feel great to shoulder, they are made in the USA and they shoot straight. Frames built for each gauge and just an awesome fe...

Re: common poison caution

REALLY AWESOME to hear that you saved your pup! :D Good job getting her to the vet in time! Very happy for you on that! I've had family dogs since I was a kid and my mother is an avid gardener. Her yard is full of plants (pet friendly ones) and she doesn't like to use chemicals on anything since the...

Re: The runt of the litter?

A buddy of mine bred their lab a few years ago and ended up keeping two pups. One was a huge chocolate pup, the biggest body (and head) of the litter. The other was the "runt" she was half the size of her brother when they were born. Today she is still only about 50# but her brother is 110#. She is ...

Re: Beer?

I like a cold beer myself, but we're going to have to do something for off topic threads. They are getting out of hand. Huh, well, GDF does have a ‘General Chat’ section. A beer topic seems fitting for a ‘General Chat’ section and beer is something a lot of people on here have in common/enjoy. I ac...

What price are they at, around $230? From Cabelas the 1850 which has the beeper upgrade is $320.... It also includes some features that other collars do not such as the jump and rise features which allow a pre set stim different from the continuous and nick (jump) and one which starts at 1 and prog...

DT Systems H2O 1850

So I think I'm sold on the DT sys 1850. For a price point collar it looks to be best bang for buck. Anyone use this and can fill me in on the beeper option of the 1850 over the 1830???? I was looking on their website but not much info on the beeper specs for the included beeper in the H2O system... ...

Nothing ends a good day in the woods like a Bells Two Hearted Ale, or two or three... Right now pick up a sixer of hopslam from Bells it will be a nice changeup for sure. All their beers are pretty fantastic. Also a big fan of the Keweenaw Brewing company. If you can get a hold of any grab some Blac...
