Re: Moving close-er to town, Invisible Fence?
Dt Systems recently came all with an all in one unit you may want to consider it is a E Collar - Tracking collar and GPS based containment system It is a little pricey compared to the Petsafe Safe Play system but you get a lot more Portable so you can contain while hunting (I think it is up to 1 mil...

Re: Dog wants to stick by my side
Thanks all - it is amazing - it is a different dog with it on and off - he feels safe by my side but thats not good for finding birds. The only time it has been an issue is when he isnt steady - thats really the main reason why I want to have the collar on him - I will just have to learn to work him...

Re: Best brand of electronic fence
They will all work initially but how long will they last? I would stick with the dogtra if you want a wire fence - It runs about $250. Sportdog also makes a decent unit but the quality overall is a little less than the dogtra. There is a new e-collar out that will also work as a containment system u...

Re: Birds, Scarce?
Was out with a grooup Saturday and everyone was complaining about this (N CA) Friday I was at the livestock auction and groups of pigeons were going for $6-$7 each in lots of 10-15. I have a local that sells to me at $4 which is a little high but it is convenient and he usually has plenty for what I...

Re: Question for the full time trainers
Thats what I am thinking yet I wanted to get a pup trained a couple of years ago and had a tough time with trainers not sure about it. I eventually trained it myself and did well until it got to shooting over it and am still fighting that mistake - we all have our preferences and a little fun and ri...

Question for the full time trainers
Having been a Springer owner and training my own dogs I am curious what the differences are you have experienced when training say a Spaniel compared to a Lab or a Retriever? They all need to know how to do the same thing in the end for birds? I ask because I have been turned down by some trainers b...

Border Patrol TC1 all in one unit
Has anyone picked one of these up yet? It was recently released and I havent been ale to find any reviews on it yet?
It looks like it is a step above everything else by offering GPS Tracking - Training - and GPS containment (builds a perimeter around a gps coord. is how I understand it)

Re: E-Collar question
Like most things you get what you pay for - I personally Like Dogtra but know TT is the leader in the industry - I have a sportsdog and it works but I have had to resolder wires in it and replace the battery (battery can go out in any brand) If you are looking to buy one and never replace it spend a...
