Re: NEW SD collar replacement also dysfunctional
Tri-Tronics did have some problems with their collars holding a charge several years ago. I had problems with mine, and never got it to hold a charge, even after it was repaired twice. I bought a Dogtra collar after that. I worked great and was reliable, but I didn’t like it for training as well as ...

If you are planning a lot of towing in the future, I would go with a ¾-ton pickup. That eliminates Toyota, Honda & Nissan. Even if I was towing with a ½-ton, I wouldn’t pick Honda or Nissan. Usually the difference between a $600 puppy and a $2000 puppy is breeding. Tanker, What are you planning to hunt? Pheasant & Hun hunting will be good at that time of year, but you're getting too late for sharptails. The problem is, opinions are purely subjective, and open to personal interpretation. Everyone has a right to one, but that doesn't make it true. And, your historical facts are based on cover dog trials, which is not necessarily the definitive standard for judging a great wild bird dog.

Ruth, You are doing the right thing by setting up the training to mimic the test. She may heel well, but remember, you will only have a 3’ wide space between the stakes. It is very tight. Quill, Sounds like you’re off to a good start. I think you just took too large of a step for your pup to handle at that stage.
