No need to worry Spotshooter i have a male Brit that is 58 lbs.He can run all day and retrieves to hand. Neither parents were anywhere near 58lbs.In fact he looks like a brother of your dog.Great disposition,biddable,good in the house.Now my little 30lb female thats another story!!!!

Well you are doing the right thing by making him accept crate time whether he loves it or not. I have two brits one loves her crate and my male loathes his crate.At times they need to be crated,end of story.

By my count the dog had been choking and gagging two times an hour for 2 or three days.At my house the dog would have been at the vet/or at least a call to the vet within 24 hours or so,but thats just me.

I dont think you have anything to worry about.I have noticed that when the babies get to a certain size the parents probably cant cover them anymore .As long as they keep getting bigger they are being fed.No need to try to feed them,mine have all figured it out without any extra effort.

My dogs have to be in the house,in their crates when i clean my coop.They will knock the screens out of the windows if i dont.I also learned the hard way.Lost two birds when the dogs caught them on the ground.No biggie.You cannot punish dogs for doing what they are bred to do. Lessons learned.

You are expecting way too much from a puppy that young.Britts are smart dogs but they dont learn a whole bunch at 18 weeks,they are incapable of that.
Take your time and enjoy your little pup.You have a ton of time for obidience training.Get your dog out in the feilds and let her romp.

Get a DR trimmer/mower its on wheels has lots of power.I have had one for 15 years and its seen better days.For a ton of weedwacking it cant be beat.Easy to change string,which is twice as big as a regular weedwacker.

Water depth can also play into this. If you are swimming your dog in water that he can touch bottom while climbing in the water{vertical} it will take longer for him too figure this out.
