I've been using Hickox video but I don't think it addresses this issue You need to get on a proven - modern - sequential training program. I think that the Smartwork series (books & DVDs) is the best one available. . I've been looking for a series that goes step by step I've looked at the Smartwork...

In my state there are some pretty good rules on conibears. They must be underwater or at least 4 ft off the ground or in an enclosure depending on the trap size. she is about 9.5 months. I have not shot over her yet nor have we worked on steady to flush as it took her longer than I would have liked to get her birdy. Its my first time training a dog so I'm learning as I go

Advice, books or links for raising chukars?
I've been raising chukars for a couple months now just learning as I go. Now winter is coming and I'm not sure how to prepare for it or what kind of temps they can take.

I would encourage water intake
I'm no vet but I've had 2 puppies with bladder issues and have used a cranberry supplement with good success

would I condition my 2 year old lab who is not a hunter the same way as my pup? The 2 year old is pretty good but now after she was fixed all of a sudden has a hankering for dumptrucks. Today she slipped lose and got hit, but she is ok.

I have not used that variety but have used both Euk and RC labrador formula in the past and they worked well for my lab. As far as quality I think they are about the same. The price is near the same too

if you want a no nonsense basic book I got The Gundog Training Course by Eric Begbie on my Kindle for 2.99 its a short basic book but it helped me a lot. It don't really get into quartering or anything like that but explains how to teach the commands you will need in the field very good for 2.99 its...

It was an experiment that started 4 days ago. Today she sat 4 times in a row at 10-12 ft just on a check cord without going around the pole. I thought it was pretty good . We will work on distance a lot more but I think its a good start

I've been running a long line around a pole so I can stop her to sit this has been working alright because the last couple of days I've been able to get her to sit about 8 ft away even tho it is still a work in progress I think we are getting there.

What's a good way to teach it? My 6 month old lab sits at whistle but I have yet to find a good tutorial to teach it at a distance. I have an e-collar but have yet to use it
