I've been thinking about picking up a 28 as well. I was hoping to pick up a cheap one if I could then get a better one down the road but so far they all seem expensive

she is about 9.5 months. I have not shot over her yet nor have we worked on steady to flush as it took her longer than I would have liked to get her birdy. Its my first time training a dog so I'm learning as I go

I've been raising chukars for a couple months now just learning as I go. Now winter is coming and I'm not sure how to prepare for it or what kind of temps they can take.

I would encourage water intake

I'm no vet but I've had 2 puppies with bladder issues and have used a cranberry supplement with good success

would I condition my 2 year old lab who is not a hunter the same way as my pup? The 2 year old is pretty good but now after she was fixed all of a sudden has a hankering for dumptrucks. Today she slipped lose and got hit, but she is ok.

I have not used that variety but have used both Euk and RC labrador formula in the past and they worked well for my lab. As far as quality I think they are about the same. The price is near the same too

I'm wondering if you do anything yet when a 7 month old is very hard mouthed on birds when she catches one? Or do you wait till later in training to correct it?

It was an experiment that started 4 days ago. Today she sat 4 times in a row at 10-12 ft just on a check cord without going around the pole. I thought it was pretty good . We will work on distance a lot more but I think its a good start

I've been running a long line around a pole so I can stop her to sit this has been working alright because the last couple of days I've been able to get her to sit about 8 ft away even tho it is still a work in progress I think we are getting there.

What's a good way to teach it? My 6 month old lab sits at whistle but I have yet to find a good tutorial to teach it at a distance. I have an e-collar but have yet to use it
