Re: E - fencing
We have 3 dogs at home with the Efence. I like it but I am now starting to realize it does train the dog to react differently that expected when using the e collar. We are working through force fetch right now and when I started to transition to the ecollar from ear pinch he will freeze when he gets...

With out a doubt the nicest shotgun I have ever used. All of my others have been in the safe for over 2 years now no need for anything else.
Just my opinion.

PP hair loss hunting
I'm guessing that all the running through the reeds and grasses has just stripped the hair off my PP pup but just to be sure any other pp owners notice hair loss during hunting season. Mostly around his eyes and legs the soft hair is mostly gone.
Thanks

Re: Tell Me About Pudelpointers
My PP is 6 months old now and I couldn't be happier. I started with GSP's but with my and my kids alergies it just wasn't easy so I found the PP. I can attest to our family they are hypoalergenic and ours does not shed. I understand that females will when they are in heat but we have a male. We have...

Re: O/U Shotgun
You will get a never ending amount of responses to this question but for me I love my Browning Cynergy Max 4. It has 3 1/2 inch chambers and recoils is very managed. its not 3 grand and Its fully adjustable for the individual shooter. http://gastatic.com/UserImages/141382/944412381/pop_wm_3952917.jpg

Anyone had one of these in their hands. The blue is not for me but I like the looks of the black. FNH has always been a favorite of mine and I'm looking for a new o/u. Thanks.http://www.fnhusa.com/l/products/shotgu ... ver-under/

Releasing Quail
We live in south central MN and our usual pheasant release this year was cut in half so I was just checking to see if it was viable to release quail. We are a bit farther north than their normal range but the habitat they are going in seems ideal. Their release would be about 45 miles north of Manka...

Re: What type of shotgun are you using for your bird hunts?
rem 310 12 ga. yes it's cheep but the birds still fall down and through 3 years I have never had a problem. I only bought it because I couldn't bring my grandpa's browning into the field anymore after I saw the value. I may go to a semi to get the extra shot but I do very well with the 310.

Re: Looking for non alergent hunting dog
My allergies are pretty bad I have had no problem with 3 types of dogs. Poodles pudelpointers and laberdoodles. My GSP makes me itch real bad but he's awsome so he can stay and we have a pp coming in may. Just go to a few breeders and meet the older dogs if you are ok a few hours later you found you...

Re: Remington 770 7mm ultramag question.
I own a 7mm mag and I cant think of anything in the US I wouldn't hunt with it. It is spendy to shoot but if your not going to go plinking with it it's not a big deal. between sighting in and hunting a box a year is all you would most likely use.

Suppliments for older dogs
I have a 10 year old GSP who is having some pain after a long hunt. He has never had any problems before so I am guessing his age is finally catching up with him. I bought some C9 older dog suppliment and had a doctor friend of mine look at it and she said it is something she wouldn't hesitate to gi...

Re: Slowing down
I once spent a good 8 hours in the field and when we got home (year old GSP) brought me his kong to throw. I was near dead he was still ready to go. Nothing can compete with the energy of a young GSP (Brit close second). It takes a few years but they will calm down.

I have had great luck with the Red Wing brand of incert. They are cheeper than customs but I'm sure like everything they won't be the answer for everyone. I hunt in a decent boot with the incerts and have had no problems from then on.

Hello from MN
Hi all I live in Eagle Lake MN and have a 10 year old GSP and PP on the way. My GSP is a great hunter but I didn't do it he was just a natural. He is slowing down a bit and we decided to go with a PP next mostly because Vinnie destroied our house as a pup and my wife is not interested it that happen...
