I wouldn't think you would want to restrict his range if he is actually hunting and casting at 600 yrds. Whatever you take away from his range you more than likely won't get back later if you want it.

I tenderize my non-tenderloin steaks with a meat tenderizer, pat them in flower, and fry them like liver in onions and portabellas. A little Lawrys, Garlic, and Slap Yo Momma cajun seasoning. Pretty good that way. Again though, as evrybody else stated, don't overcook so it doesn't get to dry.
