remote sit, whistle command question
A lot of retrievers use it. When they sit to the whistle(usually on a blind retrieve or mark they are having trouble with) the handler then gives the dog hand signals to lead them to the bird.

duck dog that breaks
I don't think you should just put a collar on him and shock him when he breaks. He needs to be completely collar conditioned so he know what to do to turn the collar off. You might get lucky and it work but why risk it. Months of training can be lost with seconds on a collar. There is intensity leve...

Most teach 3 things with the collar so the dog doesn't run to you, run off, etc to avoid( or try and turn off collar)
Not necessarily in this order
1) here
2) stay ( whoa)
3) kennel( move away from the handler, also later will be fetch
This pretty much covers anything a dog will do in his life

Ok so now you have a bitch or two in season. What you going to do. Can't leave them in the pen together let alone with males. Think about it. Plus dogs like dominance. Your setting up for fights. I have had concrete and Kennel runs for over 20 years. They are best. Also just let the poop decompose ...

Just a note also. I had a dog get caught in a trap and he was going crazy. Actually bit the pants leg off one of my buddy. Panicked a bit, then took my jacket off and threw over him. Seem to calm him a ton and was able to get him out. Without the jacket no way
