I think i have an idea on what a homer pigeon is, but what is the benefit of it? Why do people have homers and how do you train them? Just curious, but i might get into helping a man with pigeons and raising my own.

Just got back from the auction, scored 20 pigeons for 3.50 a piece, my neighbor got the batch after me for 2.50 a piece (20 birds) so we're set for training!

Im fortunate enough to have a neighbor that is a dog trainer, he gives me free pigeons and advice/help. He also has ducks we will use this summer with him.
Look for some fellow dog trainers in the area, from what i have found this community is very giving.

Is the arguing all about a lab being a "pointing breed" or a "breed that can be trained to point"?
If a lab can be trained to flush or point so good..then its just another plus for the breed.
Although i do not agree with it
