Tips for Hunt Tests
May sound extreme, but the most helpful thing I did was attend a judges seminar.

I have a friend who says that SD has good customer service because they need it. Trainer friend says he's seen random correction. I use mine EVERY day and have had no issues. SD and GDS have been good to me.

I recently had to change my email address. Is there a way to keep the same username and change my email address for the forum?

Opinion on sportdog collars.
I am equipped with SD. Good customers service, excellent in fact. But friends who use tritronics don't know how good customer service is cause they never use it.

Ok guys, after a couple of email exchanges, SD knows what I am talking about. And, get this, they are sending me a NEW unit! I only have to ship the old one back. SD customer service worked to understand my situation and went the extra mile!

I have worked my way up the sportdog line of ecollars as my training needs got more complex and #of dogs increased. The transmitter unit I have been using is a SD2525. One of my kids broke off the antenna...I mean that the wire is hanging out of the top of the unit. It appears as though the fitting ...

Training a Brittany
Whoadog has given you a good start. I, personally, believe in the yardwork, socialization focus on a pup. If you cannot get him to 'here', 'whoa', or 'heel' in the yard, bird work (even in launchers) will be frustrating. Make it short, fun, and frequent. Did I say have fun?

Is it possible to train a 2 year old Vizsla to hunt?
My four year old 'rescue' Britt is now a hunting machine. Wanted to add a dog, and fell in love with her through my volunteering with American Brittany Rescue. First, I decided if she was only going to be a companion, that was fine with me. Then, began training her like I would a puppy, but slow and...

I tend to agree with Birddogger, his whole line of comments. I have a 4 year old rescue Brittany that I adopted 6 months ago. At the onset (as she isn't my only dog) I made the conscious decision to bring her along slow. Like a puppy slow. First a couple of months in the training field and yardwork ...

Tom, I am a Michigan guy too. A 'troll' by birth, but a Tech grad, and Father still lives in Beaverton. I make an annual pilgrimage there to visit family (stated purpose) and to grouse/woodcock hunt (real purpose). My best friend from HS lives in st. Helen and has 300 private acres I get to hunt a d...

Hello from PA
I am from SE pa, a transplant from Michigan. I return to visit family there (stated purpose) and Grouse hunt (actual purpose) for a week each October. Here in PA I grouse hunt occasionally and 'preserve' hunt frequently. I am on my 3rd and 4th gun dogs. First was an English Springer Spaniel. Current...

My name is Jon Fogle. I am back into bird dogs after my first, a Springer, 3 kids, etc. I now have 2 American Brittany's. a 4 year old rescue, only with me 7 months...started like I would a puppy, but to my total amazement she is progressing well. Points, honors, obedient... Other dog is a 2 year ol...
