Well after verifying the titles that are listed as my potential pups pedigree I see his mother's side is full of FC, AFC, SH, and GMPR. Father's side is a little lack luster for titles. Only the father and the father's grandfather have a GMPR.

We will see what happens tomorrow!

How much emphasis do you put into titles in the pedigree?

I am currently researching the pedigree of some potential pups and was wondering how important it is to you?

I don't mind shopping at Wal-Mart if I'm knowledgeable on the product I'm going to buy; however, I don't know about labs (pointing or otherwise) and I never trust a Wal-Mart employee trying to sell me something...

I was wondering the same thing... The closer it gets the more nervous I become. We'll see what happens when I visit. I know that the pro trainer on-site works there full-time, and the breeder is a hunter so he probably uses the dogs as well.

This Saturday I get to visit the sire and two possible dams of my potential pup. The breeder seems knowledgeable and will have the professional trainer on-site to give me more direction, and show me how the dogs work. The breeder is an Orvis Endorsed Dog Breeder. I just wondered if it was recognized...

Does it mean something, or is it just an advertising gimmick?

Ya, his recommendation was the Hickox. I was just putting some feelers out to see if all training programs were generalized or if some stood out as being geared for "the complete newbie". I will look into that huntsmith puppy development. Thanks!

I have read a ton of posts with people saying things like "Follow the Program!" and "Are you using a sequential program?" My question is what program are they talking about? I get that they are referring to a training program, but is it a specific program? I will be getting my pup (pointing lab) aro...
