Maybe she is bored of the game, it has become routine for her and she knows that the bird is just gonna sit there. Don't know how you train her but maybe shoot a few. I know dogs get bored of pigeons too because it is repetitive and easy for them, they know the game. Good luck

Get the dog on wild birds as much as possible. As has been said, their behavior is much different than pen raised birds. It takes some time for it to click with wild birds.

Great posts. I didn't mean that just any dog, but a well bred dog from a reputable breeder. I don't think it has to be out of the greatest most expensive breeding. My experience is very limited and I am no professional so this is just my opinion

When it comes to grouse dogs (pointing breeds) people either think experience or breeding makes a good dog. What do you think? I think that any dog can become a good grouse dog with experience, it might just take some dogs more experience.
