Re: Retrieving great but will NOT drop

Could live with the retrieving issue for now though it is related to the aggression and who is the alfa-- but not the aggression-that will not improve--it will only get worse and-- in all likely hood have a negative effect on on other aspect of traing and enjoying the dog in the future --ie-hunting ...

Re: Retrieving great but will NOT drop

Re: South Dakota Phez Hunting

After a rough year in Sodak we are looking to change the area we hunt. Does anyone know of accommodations / private / public hunting land that a group can rent for 4-5 days? Currently we hunt the Britton area, but would entertain other opportunities. We do not want to break the bank and would like ...

Re: When is enough enough aggressive dog

Okay. Honestly, if I didn't break up a couple of scraps a day, I'd wonder if the mushrooms in the dog yards were "special." Your dog sounds normal. The fish oil (I'd be specific and recommend tuna oil) may help. The study mentioned was out of Italy last year. You might try getting him a special toy...

Re: Cooling off after bad training sessions

You guys that get mad at your dog for a training issue should evaluate YOUR training techniques. There is never, or rarely a reason to get mad at the dog. It's usually a flaw in your training program. I would say that an exception is when a dog bites you; as far as I'm concerned that is the unpardo...

Re: Anyone use their bird dog for coyotes too?

Thanks Duckdog and JWP. It isn't something I'm dead set on. Just toying with the idea. I love hunting predators and thought this may add to the fun. Of course, I'd want to keep it to coyote only country (may not be possible here). Wouldn't want my dogs messing around with even one of these. ImageUp...

Re: Rooster Trip in South Dakota

I'm planning a Pheasant Trip in South Dakota for end of October. We are a 3 or 4 hunters team, with 5 dogs. We begin with a long trip from Quebec... We hunt in public lands (WIA, CREP) without guide, probably in the east region of Aberdeen. My problem is to find accomodation. On the web, I find onl...
