Re: Top Gun GSP's
I have two a 2 1/2 year old Male and a 16 month old female. They are both house Dogs and have never had a problem. I bought the male as a started dog and he has been great in the field. The female which I trained ( and I have very little training experience ) is turning into a VERY good little Hunte...

Re: Transporting Pigeons
Thanks for the replys I like the cardboard box idea I'll go the grocery store and see if I can get some produce boxes they already have holes in them. I had thought about using a 30"x15" pigeon trap and a small dog crate I don't use anymore but the boxes will be easy to dispose of afterwards without...

Transporting Pigeons
I finally found some Pigeons to use for training but it will be a 1 1/2 hour drive home with them. It will be 20 pigeons so any suggestions on what I can use to transport them ? What size container would I need to assure they make it home alive ?
Thanks

Safe distance from gunfire for Pup
Let me start by saying this is not a how to introduce gunfire question. I have a pup that is just finishing up her shots and I will be taking out for walks/runs to start exploring and it will be in public areas. I have a Male GSP (Neutered) that is almost 2 years old and just brought home a new puppy (female) GSP a little over a week ago. The Male actually seems to like her he "mouths" her and knocks her around but it is not with the intent to hurt her as he's 50# and could probably kill her if he wanted. A...

I really like the breeding and have already put a deposit on a pup since the OP so I will be taking one regardless of color.

Putting pigeons on Dogs backs ?
I was watching a video of a guy doing some training and he was putting a pigeon on the Dogs back while it was on point.
There was no audio so i couldn't tell why he was doing it so i was wondering if anyone has seen this and why you would do it.

I'm curious why a non hunting home would want a fully trained Hunting Dog. Unless there getting the Dog for Free/Cheap wouldn't they be over paying considering the cost of a fully trained Dog compared to a house Pet ?
