Votes for doggy day care
Our vizsla needs lots of activity! I work 3 weeks in and 3 weeks off, and my wife is a teacher. So, when I am off I'm home with Halle all day and de goes everywhere with me, but, when I'm at work my wife takes her to doggy day care to burn off some energy. Help us get some votes together to pay for ...

Puppy won't release
Tried introducing to birds started with frozen quail as recommended, but when Halle gets ahold of it she wants to run away and eat it! Any recommendations? She even found a dead rat in the field when we were supposed to be finding birds and ran away and swallowed it without chewing like a snake!!! B...

please recommend dog friendly National/State Parks
Who said anything about running free? I own a very nice leash. The dog is just as likely if not more so to get bit by a snake here at home or in the field than to get attacked by a bear/wolf/coyote during the day at a national park! Out of all the time I've spent at national parks the wildest animal...

please recommend dog friendly National/State Parks
We enjoy camping/backpacking and hiking. We would like to enjoy it with Halle, however, most of the national parks that we want to visit (grand canyon, grand tetons, big bend, yellowstone, yosemite etc.) are NOT dog friendly. The ones that do consider themselves "dog friendly" have very strict regul...

Let me get this straight-- pigeon training
I've had good luck tethering a pigeon with a string around a foot. You should use a leather tab around the foot and then the string thru the tab to be humane. No pulling flight feathers or clipping. 15 feet of string and the bird will naturally flush, hit the end of the string and fall. The blank i...

Let me get this straight-- pigeon training
We've got trees everywhere, might have to resort to pulling feathers! Mainly worried about the bird not flying off early! Also worried about the pup not knowing we're out there to hunt birds, she gets distracted very easily wanting to play with anything and everything...mulch, flowers, garbage. Are ...

Let me get this straight-- pigeon training
If I properly card a wild pigeon, or pull its flight feathers, and place it in some cover, I should expect it to stay there until either I or the dog get too close? And when one of us does get too close I should expect that bird to flush on its own? Don't want the pup to catch these things! Will be ...

First time off leash advice needed
We live in a townhouse with no fence and anytime we let our new 9 week old vizsla outside she is kept on a 6' leash. We have access to plenty of safe places , golf courses, driving ranges, fields, etc to be off leash but I'm curious at what point I should let her off the leash, and when she is off i...
