Re: Looking for a good llewellin puppy need breeder advice

150 yards in open country is a close working dog. (I turn Harper at 200 in the grouse woods). I do not find info on Shooting Star’s pedigree online. There is some Blizzard blood still being bred but not much of it is line close. Eric Jacobs posts that he continues these lines. No personal experience...

The more you can describe what you want, the better folks can help identify what lines match. How close is close working for you? My Gordon works way closer than my Llewellin but both are past 100 yards which seems far to some. How big a dog do you want, how important is high head and tail, need str...

24" on a sxs, 21 on my BPS. You can survive with 26" on the sxs if you don't want to buy a shirt gun or cut a nice one.

Think about how important is the map capability. I have the Tek 1.0 which just tells me how far away and in what direction, didn't have to pay for maps I don't need. Pretty sure the 1.5 is updated version of that.

You can use Megestrol but it is not risk free. Side effects include possible pyometra and endometritis. These side effects are rare at the dose required to prevent estrus but it can occur and prevent future breeding.

I went from the 1825 to a Tritronics and then Tek 1.0. Love the Tek, simple to use and switch between track and train. No extras like maps but great at what it does. I run two dogs on it, can track both and switch easily between them to train.
