Sounds like a puppy being a puppy. Yes you need to watch it like a constantly unless in a kennel encloser. Give the pup a raw knuckle bone from the butcher. That should keep him busy in the yard.

What brand food/formula are you feeding and how much a day? I would be using Prozyme digestive enzymes added to each meal. http://www.prozymeproducts.com/ If you don't see the desired results then you can try Animal Naturals K9 Healthy Gainer http://www.k9power.com/animal-naturals-k9-healthy-gainer-...

Not knowing where you live, I would look at the spring time to bring home a new pup. Build an indoor / outdoor kennel set up suitable for your year round weather. If crated in the house, as the last poster said, get someone to come in mid day to take the pup outside to potty. The answer is NOT anoth...

I would by the one that is at least 40" long. Don't know what they call that size but that is the only size I would think a fully grown GSP would be very comfortable in. Plenty of room to stand up and turn around. That is what is important in crate size.

Around age two is the "magic age" for many breeds of dogs that enter adulthood. They calm and take on a more serious working roll if they have had training. I have seen this in many working breeds. That's why most service dogs and law enforcement dogs don't start serious training until 18 months old...

You might bring a string of 4-5 dogs out in the truck but you can only work or train ONE at a time.
