Re: Food for thought...

Joe, The first question is what foods are available to you in your area? Retail Pet Stores, Tractor Supply, Feed stores, etc. Then you have to find a brand and formula that works. Takes some time to find another food that works well. Have you thought about Canidae Grain Free regular or grain free? I...

Sounds like she got stung by something on her nose that caused the problem. When you went to the vet the first time and he gave her a "shot of anti allergenic" what exactly was that drug. Benadryl? It must have made her sick to throw up all night. If you don't know what it was I would find out. I'm ...

Your feeding River Run High Pro with NO Soy 27/12. The Professsional is 27/18 and has 3.5 fib er. Also the Professional uses Beet Pulp which I believe helps make smaller stools. The question is does the High-Pro have beet pulp in it?

Re: 2 year old GSP barks when running in woods

I bet it's just excitement barking. Pretty hard to stop that. I agree once she get a bird in her mouth she won't bark. In the 90's I had an Australian Shepherd that was a fantastic Frisbee dog. She would bark from extreme excitement when chasing the flying frisbee. Once she caught it no more barking...

Tim,

What brand / formula are you feeding? Depending on the food your pup can eat twice as much as an adult of the same weight. You know your feeding to much if the stools are soft or runny. Adjust the amount accordingly.

I think 4 cups of food is a lot for a 45 lb. dog. Have you increased the amount of food lately?
At least she only eats what she needs and not all you feed her. At 9 months old I would feed 2 times a day.
