Re: Tips to make dog stop whining...
I really don' think my dog knows when he is whining or not - what's the best way to teach him that he actually IS whining in order to teach a command to stop it?

Re: Tips to make dog stop whining...
Thanks guys - I definitely think it's a habit he's gotten into that needs to stop, however, I also read that its a pretty common trait with GSP's. Either way, I'd like to make mine break his habit.
I'll look into the figure 8 - thanks again!

Tips to make dog stop whining...
Hey guys - I have a year and a half old GSP. Great dog - very obedient and learns fast - however he's taken on a nack of whining when he's bored. Sometimes I don't even think he realizes that he is doing it. Do you guys have any tips on getting him to stop whining? Nothing is wrong with him, and he'...

Re: Best way to train without birds?
Thanks for the replies guys. I had no idea pigeons were that cheap. Is there a place that describes the best way to trap them? Or how do I find somewhere that sells them, being that I'm in the 'burbs??
Again - many thanks!

Re: Dogs Eye Twitching
Thanks for the help guys. I went over to the pet store by my office at lunch and bought some eye rinse (nutri-vet eye rinse - http://www.nutri-vet.com/eye-rinse-for-dogs/) I flushed his eye with a quick couple drops, then again about an hour and a half later. He is not blinking hardly at all anymore...

Hey guys - Quick question. Took my pup out for his first hunt yesterday, and he did great! All that training and tips from here really paid off. Today I noticed that he is having trouble opening his right eye all the way, and when it is fully open, his eyelid is twitching. There are no signs of any ...

Hey guys - when you are hunting with the garmin alpha, where are you putting it?
I normally have my collar handheld in a holster on my right side but I'm curious where y'all are putting yours.

Thank you guys and gals for all the help. I picked up my boy and the trainer worked him for 20-30 minutes with me. I'm very happy with how far he has come. Obedience/dominance tips and drills that you recommend....
Hi guys. Long time reader of the forums but I rarely post. Anyways, I'm looking for some good drills and tips that you have for me to teach my 15 week old GSP. I play lots of fetch in the evenings to give him some running around time to burn off steam, but I'd love to know anything you would recomme...

Worried ...Gun breaking Sage this week.
Follow the PS series and you can't really go wrong. All you have to do if things aren't going gangbusters is to back the gun way off - then work closer to the gun. This works best when the gun is stationary and you and the dog (and the dead birds - bring multiple in case they get nasty wet) move to...
