Re: Pro Plan vs. Taste of the Wild
I'm feeding my GWP TOW High Prairie Canine Formula. He was eating Pro Plan when I first got him and his feces smelled terrible. I didn't like all the corn in the ingredients of Pro Plan and his digestive system seemed in turmoil. In the past I've fed my dogs Wellness with no problems except for cost...

Re: Favorite Gauges for Upland?
I've shot 12, 20, 28, and 410 over the past 50 yrs. I enjoy the 28 now but 40 years ago I only owned a Remington 1100 and SXS Fox in 410. Don't remmeber why I sold them except for the cost of ammo.

Re: Rescue a dog, will it hunt?
Both GWP's were around 2 years old, both males. One had a dark blanket, the newest one has a white blanket, Both are high prey driven. When searching for the latest I told NGWPR I was looking for a hunter and they helped me locate him. Both dogs weer great in the house but we had no young ones livin...

Re: Rescue a dog, will it hunt?
I have had a lot of luck with rescue dogs, 1 Brittany and 2 GWP's. The first 2, Brittany & GWP, I had no knowledge of if they could hunt and as amazed to discovered that they both were great gun dogs. The newest GWP had been hunted by their fosters before I got him and now waiting to send him to a t...

Frontline and Heartguard
Tried to search these subjects first before posting. Visit with the vet this past weekend and we discussed Heartguard. My GWP has been tested about 6 months ago and is negative. The vet wanted to test again and sell me Heartguard. In the past I only used Frontline to my hunting dogs and never had a ...

Re: ever had hunting success with a rescue?
I also adopted 2 rescues over 7 years ago. The first was a Brittany Spaniel, my wife wanted a companion dog and I secretly wanted a hunter and we both did not want a puppy. The rescue had no prior history on the brit except he was picked up at a kill shelter in Ky. After he settled in our family rou...

Hi from Kentucky
Newbie signing in. I've been dogless for about 5 years after moving into a "senior" apartment with a no pet rule. In the past I've owned an English Setter, a Brittany Spaniel from rescue and a German Wirehaired Pointer from rescue. I was lucky getting these dogs. The 10 yr old setter was given to me...
