If you go out to John Martin it may be worth trying around Queens (Neenoshe) Reservoir also. Fifteen years ago there were some bobs there, then again, fifteen years ago there were some bobs in a lot of places.

Ptarmigan hunt in Alaska. I think it was December 27th. Truck thermometer said -34° F and the wind was blowing on the ridges. Dog had no problems. We did have a vest on her durring the hunt though, just took it off for the pictures. That was a fun hunt! Here's another picture from that same day. ht...

Funny, I read the same article today and my first thought was "I wonder if it's just me or was this a horrible article written to make a hero out of this woman while totally ignoring the fact that there is no evidence of the dog being mistreated?"

Spoil sport. When looking at schools for my graduate degree I can honestly admit that hunting opportunities nearby are a big factor. It's not that I don't take my school seriously, it's just that if I'm going to dedicate that kind of effort and money I want to enjoy my free time.

A few years ago I wanted a beeper but could not afford one. My solution was a $5 bell. I always knew where the dog was until she went on point, but even then I knew about where she was because I had heard her a few seconds earlier. No batteries, no expense, no worries.

Well Brian, considering your dislike for snow I will concentrate in the south. I live in Oklahoma and there are still some birds in the western part of the state (bobwhite and pheasant), but nothing like they used to be. Oklahoma University is in Norman and within a couple hours of some good hunting...
