I don't own a SM but three of my friends have and they're all out of a kennel in OR. Great hunters, and family dogs.

Very possible, GSPs are trained to track anything from feathers to fur, they're also used to locate dead bodies.

I would keep them apart, your pug is 12, too old and soon to be too small to keep up with you GWP. My 9 week old GSP is not allowed to play with my 3 year GSP yet, puppies aren't to bright, they will do stupid stuff that will get them in trouble with the older dog. After about 4-5 months of age i wi...

Nice looking pup! So did you get a second from the same breeder in WallaWalla if I'm remembering right. Know a guy that has one of his dogs and it is pretty close working but he really likes it. What kind of range are you seeing. Talked with him and met him at one of the tests. Still get all his em...

I'm gonna be in rattlesnake country the next few weeks. My dogs have gotten one of the rattlesnake vaccines, but my vet says they'll need a booster in a few weeks. What medication should I keep with me in case of a bite. I'll mostly be training on the weekends when the vets are closed. Where will y...

Do yourself a huge favor and find one that is a manual. Before i bought my duramax i passed up a 2006 5.9 HO, manual for $17,000.00 , the truck only had 50 thousand on it. I still kick myself for not buying it right then. To answer your question, Dodges are notorious for blowing trannys in their ol...

I'm sorry and this is just my humble opinion, but a hunting dog not retrieving because it might screw up its style on the point and flush is about as lame a statement as a show judge telling me he passed on my GSP because he was "too muscular". My reply was, last time I checked GSP's were still in t...

They were gonna lose anyway even without the flag pick up. Doubt it, but none the less it would have been nice to see it play out without the refs. Even if picking up the flag was the right call, Dez Bryant should have been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for entering the field of play to prote...

Don't use tennis balls, the material on the outside is like sandpaper on your dog's teeth, I use rubber balls (chuckit's). My dog fetches balls, bumpers, sticks, etc. doesn't seem to affect his bird fetching.

My 70# GSP is 1 year old, he eats 2 cups in the morning and 3 cups in the evening. He is in top condition, not too thin or over weight, no excessive amounts of stool. Bags says he should be eating 1/2 that. Feed til you find a balance. I feed taste of the wild.

Public land or private, there is no such thing as "free hunting". This is why I like hunting the preserves here in WA and OR, by the time I drive to the public lands, pay for fuel, lodging, etc. and if I am lucky enough to bag my two day limit of 6 birds, they only cost me about 50 a bird. My last t...

Yeah, what's up with a pet feed business trying to make money? What a rip off! They should invest millions in R&D and marketing and then ignore everything they learn! Check out Trocken bach kennels in Walla Walla WA. They're breeders of Deutsch Kurzhaar from the Haugen Haus line in Germany.
