I haven't been on a training program. Just thought I'd casually train him till he was good enough to take hunting. I don't get to hunt a lot so I only need him to know the basics really.

The vet I usually go to was going to do the one injection the first day and then two injections 4 weeks later while he takes pills to kill off the baby worms. Thank you

That care credit looks promising. Wish I would have had that when his leg was broken.

When I was at her house he'd fetch a lot and I'd always stop before he wanted to but anywhere else he didn't seem as interested

I took him to the vet and got started on the treatment and got the baby worms killed for months but wasnt able to drop the cash for it. Didn't know they had payment methods

He really doesn't have that much training. He knows sit, lay, and come. And I'll just lay off the training till the worms are gone.

Thank y'all very much. I was heading in the totally wrong direction. Yes he's the one with heart worms but the fetching is the only thing that has changed about him. He's still energetic and loves swimming and running around the woods nonstop when I take him out.

Yah I used my sport dog 400 on my throat up to level 4 and my friend went to 5 but I only go up to 4 on my lab if its necessary. We had a bunch of people over a few weeks ago and I would turn it to 8 and get them in the leg or arm. But of course that was after we had started on the beer and whiskey

My lab mix currently has heartworms but I do not have a $700-$1000 for treatments at the vet. I heard about people getting heartworm treatment for other animals like live stock from a store and using a smaller dosage on their dog. Has anybody had experience with this?

That makes total sense. I tried putting the dummy in front of his face and then sneaking a treat in his mouth when he sniffs it.
