I have Labs, a bit heavy to lift. I have a Petsmart ramp. Works well off any tailgate and even reaches up to the holes of a topper rig. Ramps are better for dogs in the long run. Ramps to get onto tailgate...

I have Labs, a bit heavy to lift. I have a Petsmart ramp. Works well off any tailgate and even reaches up to the holes of a topper rig. Ramps are better for dogs in the long run. The impacts of jumping up and especially down are hard on the joints.

I believe first would have been Yellow of the fad colors. Although Chocolate and Yellow date back to the 1800's they were generally culled. I guess I meant first in my personal history. Boykin or Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Dog. Both breeds are under 50 pounds and retrieve very well.

I live in southeast Arizona, I hunt mostly doves & quail. I use a chocolate Lab. He does fine, even in the triple digit temperatures of early September.
