If I were you, grab a WIHA atlas and head out to the counties in the western third of the state. You'll find plenty of opportunities and your dog will get to run itself ragged, after all, watching the dogs work is really what it's all about. I don't believe in using continuous for anything, that's just too much pressure. A quick nick is all that is required to get a dog's attention. ezzy is right though this was my fault, handler error. I was trying to teach hunting skills in an area in which I couldn't 'complete the circle' sort of speak; point, flush, shot... got to put em together and reward them for their work with the bird every once in a while.

What breed are you getting the collar for? I recently bought a Garmin Delta Sport for my brittany. I saw some negative reviews and it seemed that the largest reason was poor prong contact to the dog's skin... That being said when properly fitted I have had no issues with the collar and it has worked...
