should be able to buy snake scent put some on a rag and use an ecollar on dog shouldnt take long, finding the snake scent might be a problem though

not like the english pointers, or some of the short haird dogs ,some dogs know how to pace there selfs better than others, i have setters myself, and one pointer beleive me the pointer can take the heat much better, thats why i have him early season grouse hunting in michigan can get pretty warm ill...

been there done that we all have had a few mishaps in training, i know its agravating wanting ever thing to go just as we planed it but never does look at it this way when your out hunting do the wild birds sit perfect and everthing works out fine, the ansewer is no wild birds run off they flush way...

i hadnt used the e collar, only in the start and middle no need to she was doing it right no need to shock her
that being said think thats where i messed up when she didnt retrive the grouse to me should have inforced it with the collar,

again she was retriveing any thing i threw or placed out in the yard on the fetch command and deleiverd to hand she did all the things that the dogs in videos did arter finished the ff so i thought she got it completed all the steps and as i said she would go get any object i commanded her to still ...

pretty simple fix but you need a launcher, as soon you see the dogs scents the bird, if your dog point launch the bird it will not take long your dog will understand if it doesnt point the bird flushes, if your dog points and then trys to move any at all launch the bird once the dog is pointing and ...

she pointed woodcock at 7 month old, grouse at a little over a year old has pointed many grouse weve killed over her points just hasnt retrieved one to hand yet, shes been in a ton of birds mainly grouse, she can handel them as good as any retrieved woodcock last year, guess we just keep working on it

hes 15 mayby 16 months hunted him some last year he pointed grouse and woodcock we killed a few of each over his points then winter set in didnt get him out much he just started doing this this year ,on spring woodcock training but he did much better today held two woodcock and let me flush he bump ...

you will have no trouble finding land to hunt in the up, better have a good gps easy to get lost the aspen covers all look the same
and a lot of wilderness, I say this because you get into birds and following your dog easy to get turned around

I guess I dint make it to clear my bad, the dog from a pup would retrive ball sticks that I threw for her thought she would be a natural retriever, first year hunting would not retrive a bird mayby there is where I messed up let it go and said to myself next year retrieving will kick in 2nd year sam...

I agree the less you have to handel a dog the better,I hate the whistle and hollering out in the field, in my opion spoils the hunt thats why I train in the off season for the dog to hunt with me not the other way around me and the dog are a team and must work togather with the gps systems out today...

try it on yourself first when you can fill the collar turn it up some not all the way but you want to know the dog is getting a pretty good jolt
as said don't say nothing or act anyway differant, if it happens again turn the jolt up some more one time will probably do it

this is the shampoo they said to use its called BPO-3 it's by vetoquinoa it has 3 percent benzoyl peroxide iv also heard people use baking soda in the bath water hope this helps,
