I ran beagles for 12 years until i recently got my gsp. It is good idea to have some emergency brakes on the dog. Like an ecollar. Beagles brains turn off on good track. You dont want her runnin into a dangerous situation.

Getting them on a hot scent is a good start. Eventually she will be able to pick up a cold scent and work it to the rabbit. Just make sure you get in tune with her chopping. You should know the difference if she is running a cold scent, hot scent or a different animal. Trash break of she starts runn...

Well i suck! I let my dog down. She was a little scatterbrained at first, then she settled in and gave me 7 solid points. I missed 5 out of 7. On top of that i could only find one (actually she found it). I guess i need more work behind the shotgun. But she did great and probably thinks im a fool.

The reason I brought 9 birds is because every other time i go out I lose some. If I bring 3 I lose one, if i bring 5 i lose 2. I figured if i brought more we would find 4-5, but these birds stuck right where i dropped them. I have had some slip out of my hand and fly away, several times I have watch...

I have always had female dogs and always chose names popular in the late 1800's. Cleo, Delilah, Daisy until I got the new pup and decided to let the kids name it. I wanted Lilly or another name I cant remember. I got Jersey. It was originally with a z but I wouldn't allow it.
