I had a dog about 8 years ago get Cushings at 12 years of age. We made the same decision as you did. Always a tough one, but I think in these cases due to the age of the dog the right one.

I have never had that happen with the Biothane collars I've bought from Gun Dog Supply. The seem to last forever. You could also try their WigWag collars as they seem to be a little more flexible than the biothane.

I personally don't believe a dog should be taken to skeet/trap shoot. There is a chance more bad things could develop than any positives. And I also agree with what gonehuntin' said. Sounds like your pup is coming along fine, don't screw it up now.

My question would be: Do you plan to breed her in the future? If the answer is no, I'd abort the pups and have her spayed. That will then eliminate and future unplanned breedings.
