Dakota 283
Will a Dakota XL be large enough for my setter? He is a larger type setter, crate will be used in back of truck under truck cap. I think inside dimensions are around 36" deepX 24" wide. My setter is tall and will probably be around 70 lbs when full grown. Thanks

Holster for Champion Pistol
Is there a better holster for the Champion pistol? The one that I have from LCS seems to swallow the pistol. Nothing more annoying than fighting to get your pistol out as the bird flies away.

LSC Northwoods Long Range?
I am in need of a new bell for my Brittany. For those of you familiar with this bell, is it small enough for an average size Britt? Does the sound carry well through the grouse woods or would there be a better choice??

Cold Weather Suggestions For Dog House
Hello folks, looking for some ideas on keeping my dog house warm this winter. I have outside runs that extend into my pole barn(insulated but not heated). Dog houses are inside the building so the dogs can come in and get out of the wind and weather. Here is the problem, my Brittany will eat anythin...

Spring Hinged Dog Doors??
Was wondering if anybody has had an issue with the doors shutting on the dogs tail? Maybe the springs are not that tight to make it slam shut? It looks like Deer Creek makes a nice aluminum door. Just was looking for a little feedback before I bought a couple. Thanks!!!

I am looking for some feedback from folks that have tried either one or both of these collars. I am looking to add a collar to my 320 and didn't know which was best. I would like to try the mini (for my Brittany). Just don't want to compromise battery life or tracking distance with the smaller unit....

Stake Out Assistant Reviews??
Anybody ever use the stake that you step on to hook your checkcord to in order to get in front of your dog on point? If so, how does it work?? I thought about making one so I could use it while training by myself. If it doesn't work that great I will just have to recruit the wife to walk in front an...

Steering Wheel for my Brittany
I have a 14 moth old Brittany that has a big set of wheels ( like most do). I was wondering how to continue to let him run big while still keeping him under control. Planning a grouse hunt in October and am a little worried he will be way out of range. I don't want him under my feet but can't have h...

Was thinking of making a trip down to dog training grounds in Delaware for some bird work soon. Has anybody been down there recently? Was just wondering how tall the grass was and if it would even be fit to plant some birds for training?

Best Wife........Lucky Man
Turned 40 this week and my wife surprised me with a new Ruger Red Label for my birthday. It is by far the nicest shotgun I have ever owned and I haven't even shot it yet. A guy that I work with let me shoot his a month or so ago and I fell in love with it. Now I just have to practice so when hunting...

Whoa Post Advice
I have had 2 sessions on the whoa post with my 11 month old Brittany. Is it common for them to stand all twisted and miserable looking?? Maybe I applied to much tension on the check cord or maybe I did something else wrong. I'm following the Smith Method of the Whoa post with the flank cord. In the ...

When To Start Breaking
I know this is probably a huge matter of opinion and I know that all dogs are different, however, what are benchmarks to go by when breaking your dog. I have an 11 month old Brittany that has been pointing little and then chasing when I flush the pigeon. During the chase I have fired my .22 blank an...

Thanks, your advice is greatly appreciated. I have trained a few hunting dogs just not a bird dog, and its an adventure, ha ha. Re: Training Help
Thanks for the advice, appreciate the help. The whole pigeon in a cage was my solutions to keeping him in one place. The other birds i planted were out in plain sight walking around. I use it just like a kick cage but instead of kicking the bird up I throw one for him to chase. I am getting some qua...
