Re: Late season grouse in NY state

I was up there last weekend and didn't have any flushes. It was not a productive spot for me this year.

I was trying to quote and send via my Iphone so maybe that had something to do with it. I retyped it from my desktop and went through fine. :?:

Re: NY hunting season

nyhusker95, Come up to the North country. Plenty of birds good food and cold beer to be had up here. That sure is tempting with three of my favorite things! I think it's about 6.5 hours away so would def have to make it a two day trip. Not sure it's in the cards this year with a grouse trip planned...

Re: NY hunting season

Although this will be my first year grouse hunting so it will be a learning expierence for us both. Partridge run or Daketown state forest, DEC releases pheasant in the fields and plenty of grouse to be found in addition to good flight woodcock. Both about 3 hours from Queens. Thanks for the info. ...

Re: NY hunting season

Diplomat019, I am located here at Ft. Drum, NY. I hunt all the surrounding areas. Bird numbers have been good around here. That's like being in another state from where I am (LI). Our season doesn't start until 10/1 down here. I'm excited for it and have a new pup (10 mos) I'm anxious to get out. A...

Re: Vote which puppy is cuter!! Help me choose my forever friend

Oh White Rabbits Foot Fern is very a pretty fern! The fluffy white roots are very unique and seem to make the plant say "hey, look at me! I've got fluffy feetsies", but I think I love the leaves on them the most! Very nice. I don't have any Rabbit Foots. I just have 2 Boston Ferns outside on my fro...

I have tried sending two separate members a PM but they are not being sent for some reason. Any suggestions or reasons why?

Thanks.

Re: Any boxing fans here?

Mayweather is very selective in choosing his opponents. He doesn't make a fight until he has a competive edge. It's no coincidence this fight didn't happen five years ago. I don't think he was scared of Pac in the ordinary sense we use the word, but think he was scared to risk losing because his re...

[quote="birddogger" Yeah, I was glad to see NBC start airing fights but I seriously doubt we will ever see any top names fighting each other but at least they are tossing us a bone. Charlie[/quote] The last NBC fight had Andy Lee v Peter Mcquillan as the first fight, which was very exciting. The mai...

was sitting out in the backyard today, enjoying the sun and temperatures that have finally climbed above 60 degrees, when the pup started running through the brush at the edge of the lawn, very excited: out flies a woodcock. every day is hunting season for my Britt, but for me it is 5 1/2 months aw...

As far as I'm concerned, that's a battle wound after running down a wild rooster  Glad he's better and won't lose the eye. Good thing you didn't just let it go.

Re: hunting poodle

Not long ago (approximately 100 yrs now) the Boykin was a crossbreed and we know how that turned out. It wasn't recognized by the AKC until circa 2009. It is considered by many to be THE best hunting dog around. Why can't this cross produce similar results? Poodles are great family dogs and are as s...
