Re: Let's Try this Again...Pointer Questions

If you love the English Pointer breed, given your requirements, I would recommend you look for a pup from strong Elhew lines. I can only speak from my experience, but all of the well-bred Elhew dogs I've owned or know were excellent retrievers, close working, intelligent, biddable and easy to train ...

Thank you! We think he's a handsome little dude. He's all Elhew out of Nitro Kennels. His breeding is listed in the link below if you are interested.

Re: New Pup Coming Home Soon

You've got an orange and white one there and a lemon and white one as well! Though the color looks the same, orange have dark noses and lemons have the pink nose. Gorgeous puppies! Pick the boldest of the two (o.k., that's what I would do!). Pick the one you like best. Thanks RoostersMom! I saw the...

Re: A little about you...

Greetings, My name is Jay and I recently found this site and decided to join. I honestly can't believe It took me this long to know of its existence! Anyhow, I've been an avid bird hunter for over 20 years and I've owned a GSP and an EP in that time. The EP, my second dog, is 13 years old now so I a...

Re: Tracking collars

rocksteady1- I imagine there might be a ton of posts in the forum already on this topic that a search might help you locate. Having said that, I own a Garmin Alpha 100 that I have found reliable and relatively easy to learn to use. The Alpha 100 is a combination training and tracking handheld/collar...

I still find myself going back to this book from time to time.

Hunt Close! By Jerome B. Robinson

It's old now, but still useful. I can also echo the recommendation that you consider attending Rick Smith's seminars. Worth the money in my opinion and a fun way to spend a weekend.
