Quail pen/with new pup around
So I have been planning on raising some Bob Whites to train my pup with, but was wondering if it be a bad idea with the pup seeing the pen and knowing the birds are in the pen, could it make training difficult, for him to comprehend seeing quail at his home as well as in the field.

Thanks for all the replies guys, will definitely take note of it, the breed im interested in is the Vizsla and im from Massachusetts and do all my hunting out of state

So i plan on getting my first bird dog puppy within the next year and I only hunt for grouse and woodcock, my question is When im looking for a breeder with puppies does it matter whether the dogs parents have been trained on pheasants and never seen a grouse in their lives? Thanks for commenting guys, and i will look into those DVDs and the Braques français is the breed and the Pyrenees was the one i was interested in. My family is good friends with a guide up in NH that i think i could use as a mentor, as i grow with the pup.
