I'd say it was just an overload of being spooked - cows . Unlucky. I'd bet he didn't run back because of the shot, but because he thought the cows might show again. 2 people shot, only hunt with 3. nobody shout at the single. and that is how I gun broke him while he was chasing birds. and yes a vizsla. What all do you have done before you take your dog for their first season? For upland trainers, do you hunt your dog on pheasant for their first season? I have heard some trainers say not to.

Sounds good! I have heard of people using frozen birds for retrieving practice and getting used to the bird but it seems like I am just overthinking it. Thanks for all of the help!
