I heard for the first time from a well respected breeder who stayed the course with field dogs while the Bench Members dominated the rule books that he thought that a consistant trial winning female will influnance 80% of pups success? Denise, I will always be a seller of Weims,for I made a good living for many years running nuckle** Pointers.That is a good reason to promote a breed that is family dog first and a hunter on week-ends. There is a trend for trial organizers to use any method get
each class enough dogs to have a major(3 or 4)AKC points.
EXAMPLE:

Is it right to have a Visla(or any other minor breed) trial with no Vislas entered ?

Thought I had all this solved when instaled a BANK's Blower on 6.2 Diesel.

First tank registered 26 MPG.

It didn't seem like much but running from Denver to Amarillo,Tx.(5000 ft/1200 ft.) was mostly down hill.......Haven't done that well since.

GREG, Breeders like yourself live in rareified air,thanks to the last 50 years of careful select breeding by GSP founding breeders.....as is the Weims. Our shelters are full of GSP's and mix GSP's.The puppy farm GSP's are not selling well regardless of what the future buyers are reading on this boar...
