Unattained Papers/breeding

Has anyone ever lost the ability to get papers for a dog and still entertained the idea of breeding said dog? I would love to breed my female GSP down the road but the breeder I got her from died shortly after I got her as a pup and I never got her papers. After a year of back and forth with AKC, fi...

Re: Hypersensitive GWP

The more you post, the less sense it makes. You say he's a did great hunting yet is terrified by the shot of a gun. He folds when you tug on a leash yet has been trained for hunting. He's completed his Junior hunt test yet hates gun fire. He's sick for hunting get runs from a shot. Taken as a whole...

Re: Hypersensitive GWP

That's a very real possibility. The breeder even contacted me about two weeks after I got him and "double checked to make sure I didn't want to return him for the stud of their last litter that they decided not to keep at the last minute". I did not pay very much for him, and he's a beautiful dog. H...

Re: Hypersensitive GWP

Thanks for all the replies, was hoping I'd get lucky and have a little positive feedback. I'm going to try to give him a little more time and see if he can come together even if its just as a pet, he's an insanely sweet pup when 98% of the time. Will be moving in May and have the opportunity to be m...

Re: Hypersensitive GWP

He has bitten me on two occasions. Once while trying to pick him up after a run in with a porcupine (not only did he bite me but he crapped all over himself), the other occasion trying to kennel him. Just trying to find out if there is anyway to salvage the dog because he's shown great potential bef...

Hypersensitive GWP

Has anyone dealt with a hypersensitive dog before? I mean HYPERSENSITIVE! I have a 3 year old male GWP that i got about a year ago from a breeder and he is the biggest sissy. Before anyone asks I'm not heavy handed with the dog, just have learned through day to day life. If I so much as grab his col...

Re: First intro to live birds, 2yo GSP

Thanks y'all! I took her out to some gamelands on the way to pick up my GWP and released them to her one at a time missing some flight feathers, she caught two and the others managed to lead her on a long chase and end up in some lower trees. I'm not terribly concerned they'll make it back to where ...

First intro to live birds, 2yo GSP

So I've gotten a hold of some feral pigeons from a local wildlife removal company recently. I'm looking to use them with my 2 year old GSP. Here's the issue, she has never worked with live birds before. She's essentially been a duck/dove retriever the last two years. She's extremely obedient (all th...
