Heres another one from our annual trip to Saskatchewan. This is a young pup at 9 weeks. First exposure to birds, and I think she has got it figured out.

Re: What holds Newb's back from Trialing?
To answer the OP's Question: 1) Time 2) Money 3) Distance ( which is really Time + money) 4) No access to Horses But say if I was retired and rich, I think the first hurdle I would have to get over is all the terminology from the various governing Trial bodies AKC and AF. I would need to figure out ...

GT,
Your so modest..
there's a nice pedigree on your own website.. www.gtshorthairs.com
I have hunted with Joker quite a few times and he is a rock on point and our go to dog for hunting cripples. GT's that is, all mine are usually one well placed bb just behind the beak......

Brightened up the photo a little bit for you. Took it as far as I could without too much distortion. Looks like you had a great time. I don't know if I could shoot ducks in the cold like that anymore but it brings back memories.

Re: Why Have A Dog At All?
It's hard to know the circumstances around the condition of that poor dog. In my opinion it is very underweight. However, the eyes are very bright, so it makes me wonder if the dog is on the mend. Here is a link to the purina dog weight chart that we see in so many vets office. My Brit is a 6 and it...

Re: Micro Chip Identification
Grousemeister, I have one experience with a CKC pup I purchased from Sascatchawan which was chipped. Once I received him here in WI. we had him examined and I requested a scan which they could not pick up. Hope this helps. Thanks for your input-- that's exactly my concern. If I get her chipped for ...

Re: Micro Chip Identification
K9, Moose Thanks for your response. I thought about double chipping and that might still be an option. I was first just going to put in an AVID chip and that would meet my US travel requirements, however it was not going to be recognized by the CKC. As far as I can tell is there is two main frequenc...

Micro Chip Identification
Hi there, I am looking for someone that might be able to give some advice on micro-chipping my new pup. It should be an easy decision but I have a few requirements that I need to consider. Here they are.. 1) The Pup is A GSP and is AKC registered. It has no tatoo or existing Microchip 2) I want to r...

GSP Pedigree Question - Burr Oaks "Big Jake"
Hi there, I have been doing some GSP pedigree research and have come across "Big Jake" in many pedigree lines. I have seen a picture of him, but know nothing of the Dog other than the titles he achieved. Did any one see this dog in action or can anyone offer some comments about "Big Jake" ? It would...

Re: OT: DSL modem bandwidth
Hi there, Normally, DSL connections are stable and do not fluctuate much from established baselines/ Sometimes the human element can be an issue. this happens when provisioning changes are made to the wrong account. however, if this was happening your speed would always be slow or faster than you ar...

Re: When you can't go to the grouse.
Thanks, Here one of my favourite summer photos, I'm on lake of the woods, take a right at the white boat house in the pic and it's 65 miles south to Baudette MN or Warroad MN. It's great in the summer time, but the best in the fall. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e304/netnorth/Trigger/rainbow.jpg

When you can't go to the grouse.
Let the Grouse come to you.. Found these photos while clearing out the camera. I guess it's a long winter for our dogs up here. This grouse came by for a few evenings, to feed on the birch buds. The good news is that the snow is gone now, and outside training can commence. :D http://i42.photobucket....

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have always had brits, and I enjoy the breed. However, I have noticed on this site there are a lot of GSP's . I think my next dog will be a GSP. They are a little larger, but they are a great looking dog, and it would be hard to argue with their hunting abilities. I do...

New to the Forums
Hi there, I am new to the forums and glad I found this site as there is some great information on here. I have a 2 year old Brittany, his name is "Trigger". We are working on our yard work and progressing well. He seems to have a good desire to hunt and a good knack for finding birds. Most of our na...
