Anouther advantage to trapping into an aviary is you can leave that open without leaving your whole loft open and exposed to predators at night or if you are going to be gone and can't close before dark but want to keep it open for the late return ones.

Make sure you buy homers. Maybe take the birds you have now and let them go a few hundred yards away and if that goes good then go farther. One thing if they are fat is feed half barley this will thin them out.

Yep, all dogs can be dangerous. I read article the other day about a pomeranian ripping the throat out of a new born baby when the parents left the room. The baby did not survive.

It is funny even on here pits have a bad name and noone wants one. Most people have no clue how they really are and if they did would like them. All dogs can do massive damage if they bite especially big ones. People say I just won't take the chance cause they might bite someone but would be alright...

If anyone out there is having problem with parisites on your birds use this and they will disappear. One spray under each wing, and one right under the tail (butt). OK here is the best spray to eliminate fleas, flys, gnats, anything that bothers pigeons. One spray under each wing, and one right under the tail (butt). This will stop anything and for a while. Number one reason dog training is not succesful is the person doing to training. Alot of people like to make excuses but it is 90 percent thier fault amd from what I have seen mostly because of lazy humans that don't or won't put in the time required to do it right.

Some of them can be rehomed. You just have to take the chances if it will work or not. I tried to rehome 40 race birds in the past. I kept them in and most had raised a round before I let them out and after I started flying them I was down to 15. I just don't think it is worth it to loose so many.

It is hard to rehome a race bird esp. if it has been raced. You have to understand that these birds have been taken places and trained to fly home maybe close to 100 times and raced out to hundreds of miles. They also have to keep flying home when other birds break to their lofts this is not natural...

We are pretty bad around here. My aunt breds pet dogs mostly but has weims and begals. She has litters on the ground and is trying to get $25 for the begals and $100 for the Weims. She has lots of pups and can't sell them at all. She has been doing this for years and always sells dogs well.

Some don't need lights and will breed through the winter. They would have to be establish breeding pairs before winter comes. Like was said lights will keep them all breeding. Oh, and 16 hours of light would be good.

Yes, probably not fertile. Does she sit both? You can candle them at 4 days and tell if they are any good. I just put a small mag light up to the side and if you see blood (like a vien) it is good. I don't think there is anything you can do about it.
