How to Train Your Bird Dog by Horace Lytle
Just curious if anyone has read this book? And your thoughts on it. One of my co-workers gave it to me as he hasn't had any dogs for sometime and doesn't plan on getting another. TIA

Mine does the same thing and he hasn't been around any female pooches. Seems to be and excitement/anticipation thing with mine.

Re: ~ HIGH OCTANE ~ "REV", an update.
Great pics, post and work with REV that is awesome to see the change like that. We experienced a similar change with our first gun dog Hank whom is only 8 month old as of now. So I can relate to REV's owners. Our trainer did a great job in a short time. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Hunting Rig
Garrison nice rig i don't see any reason you need to change anything at all. My rig is a 2019 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. It was my first new vehicle in sometime got luck enough to order the way i wanted it. I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon if ever.

Re: Pedigree ?s
Thanks gentlemen, I know the Sire and Dam aren't champions but they are good hunting dogs and that's the main thing for me. I can say this with out a doubt Hank has a ton of desire for birds and John says he is coming along nicely so we will see as he progresses through training how he turns out.

Re: Pedigree ?s
Thanks FF for some more insight. When I started looking I wasn't really as interested in the pedigree as I have become now. I mainly just want a dog that will hunt well so the titles didn't necessarily mean that much to me. But now I am learning maybe I should have looked at that more than I did ini...

Thanks Shags. Would anyone be familiar with any of the dogs in the Pedigree? And what is a MAN dog? What kennel are they out of?

Re: What gun dog breed do you currently own and why?
We went with a GSP because of the versatility and then my wife said she didn't want anything with long hair. I was also able to find a really good deal on a good pup. This is my first bird dog so I am learning a lot.
