The season in review

Well good bye '10 hunting season. I finally got to downloading some pics from this past fall. It was a good year, not quite as good as last year, but still a great time. We started with Chickens in Sept and hunted phez right until the end of January. THought I'd share a few from this year. Chicken H...

Re: Disadvantage of keeping a dog inside.

We hunt indoor living EPs in weather as cold as we get in OK and they do just fine... OK vs ND are you kidding? Sorry DT but you see lows 40 degrees warmer than ND highs... That having been said I keep mine outside, but let em in at night for a little snuggle time. If it gets really cold for KS the...

Re: Phez in Kansas....?

Jimbo your plans changing may actually help you a bit. Now that Thanksgiving is past and deer season is open it should give the birds a chance to settle down a bit. I rarely see many others out in the field now until the end of the season. Both Larned and Hays will offer you places tostay, with Hays...

Most birds in 20 years. Get excited! Have you actually hunted here this year? Don't get too excited about what you read on the KDWP site. THey are more of a tourism department that an actual wildlife department. There are birds, but the pressure has been unbelieveable, especially the areas you ment...

Nontox is not necessary on WHIA. As far as downloading the maps to your GPS, I have no idea. I use the paper booklet they put out so I can write notes on the pages and refer back to them year after year. Larned can be a great place to baseout of, but I think every one else thinks the same thing. The...

Paid $26.50 per 40 lb bag of Professional Athlete this week. For that price I will stick with it as the dogs have done very well on it. That is as long as they didn't change the formula drastically and the dogs continue to do well.

Had the Mud River covers for a couple seasons now and love em. They stay on from mid Sept 80's prairie chicken hunting to -20's in December in ND. the only issue is the zipper pulls are a little cheap and get brittle when it's real cold. Would I be absolutely crazy to have my grandpas old model 12 bored out from full to an improved mod?
