imo it is too early if the dog can't be called in with some sort of expectation that it will come. besides that, which is more of a safety concern, wild birds will make a better bird dog than i ever will :D

I had a charger fail, contact points clean, it just quit working. I have another from a second collar so I never contacted garmin about the issue, surely they would send you another though.

what is the difference between the hobart and nationals..... as far as qualifying? do most of the dogs entered in hobart compete in nationals? would there be an advantage to running the course 1 month prior for those entered in the hobart?

i use it on my vehicle garmin gps to help me find the areas not the astro. it is not an interactive program, it is simply an overlay download so you cant mark the actual WIHA area. Last year was the first time I had downloaded the WIHA maps to my garmin to make finding them a little easier while driving. So it is that time again this year and I don't know if the 2011 WIHA will update the old 2010 currently on my garmin or just add to it. If I do need to delete the 2010 version...

ditto on the atlas though, the hard copies are much easier to read then computer prints. if wal-mart is out the court house usually has them.

just follow the directions, i just went through the process to make sure the site was working since we will be heading out there soon...... everything is working. you may have indicated you are were a resident or something, that might eliminate the nonres licenses. it is license option 108.

generally the only difference is length. a checkcord is basically a long leash no matter what it is made of....... put 3 or 4 leashes together and call it a checkcord, whatever. the shorter the leash generally the quicker the correction will be, therefore walking and basic obedience should be learne...

don't hear that about danner too much. i have the older version of the sharptail and they are great. i had a similar story to yours regarding a pair of irish setters i bought. i say give danner a try again with some pronghorns and test the waterproofing in a bucket..... send them back if they leak.

may want to look at some lacross boots, they are all rubber, a little more comfortable than mucks imo. varies with the individual though. both lacross and muck have good names, try them on and see which ones you like.

thanks AZ! i noticed both my dogs had 620pts saved. now for my next question. i have tried saving multiple dog tracks for other reasons and ended up deleting the previous track, read the book and still couldn't figure it out. could you give me a step by step on how to set up the next track?

i have heard of this before. there have been test that show dogs have less of a reaction to missing members when they know the member is dead. i don't think there are any test indicating that dogs "mourn" or have feelings about death but the idea of knowing the dog is dead allows the pack to move on...
