Wow Wildweeds. That's a first. Never heard a bad word about Mike McGinnis. In fact every pro I've been around has had nothing but good things to say about him.

Re: Favorite GSP Bloodline
I have a sonny dog that is an outcross but definetly has the sonny style, power, ect. He's a real friendly dog but doesn't sit still around the house much yet. As far as his holes, he is hard headed and has been a little slow to mature mentally. That said he's only 22 months old and improving every ...

Which roading harness?
I was curious which harness most people use. I am wanting one for atv roading and for off a horse. I would like a leather one. Is there one that is the most commonly used by pro horseback handlers? I figure they would have it pretty figured out. Thx

Re: For the GSP breeders ?
If I'm not mistaken I think it is ok to breed a carrier as long as it is not breeding another carrier. I think alot of the reason they are saying that is to not scare people away from testing their dog and the fear of losing some of the best trial dogs for breeding.

Re: For the GSP breeders ?
You are 100% right about getting the test before breeding. This could eliminate this horrible disease. I had a dog with LD and it is a terrible thing to go though.

type of wormer?
Was wondering what type of wormer I should be using for my 5o lb gsp's? My 1 yr old had a 1/2"long x1/8" wide white worm? Is it something that you should give regularly or when you think its needed? Thanks.

Milage in a day garmin astro?
Just curious what kind of milage you have gotten on a dog in a day of hunting? I think that this is one of the neatest features of the collar. This is something that I always wondered about. I've only used it four times but got 26 miles the other day in nasty chukar country with my ten month old pup...

Re: Garmin Astro220 and DC30??
I've liked mine so far in the four times I've used it. The problems that I have had have been the issue dgfavor spoke of with the arrow and compass pointing the wrong direction and mine doesn't seem to beep when on point. That said, I have not read the instructions yet so it could be my fault? As fa...

Re: Training help needed
In training she is steady to wing, shot, and fall. I usually let her retrieve if she does everything right but i'll stop that. I only seem to run into this problem at the trials so it makes it hard to find the fix. As far as the clipped wing pigeons or quail, I have done that and she does well in th...

Hi, I have a 4 yr old gsp that runs in Nstra trials. She is competitive in the trials and has some placements. The problem we are having now is that she is starting to crowd her birds. I know that this is a problem with NSTRA trials and the amount of bird contacts. A few months ago she took out a co...

Just an update. We trained at another location today with bobwhites and her style and intensity was back. I was hoping it was just going to take a change of scenery. Blinked a back but backed real nice a couple times so thats good for her.

My 4 year old GSP is flagging on point with her tail at 10 o'clock. She is bird crazy and not a soft dog at all. She is green broke and we have been doing alot of training to get her there. I have never been hard on her physically or with the collar. Any pointers on getting her intensity level back ...

Dog has Lupoid
My 8 month old gsp has Lupoid Dermatosis. I posted a while back under " 7 month old gsp skin prob". My vet and I have been in contact with U Penn and are trying to figure out what to do next. It's very disappointing as he is turning in to a great little hunter and is a part of the family. I wouldn't...

7 mon. old gsp skin problem
Hi, my gsp has a skin problem. It showed up as flakey skin on his liver head.(the rest of him is white) After 2 weeks it was getting worse and I could feel bumps and flaking skin on his body. Especially in his groin and sides. Took him to the vet and they checked for mites and bacteria on the skin. ...

I am wanting to build boxes for my shorthairs. They have outdoor runs that dead end at the barn wall. I have lots o...
Re: need help
Thanks guys. To give a little more background, we train with pigeons 90 % of the time and no matter what kind of bird it is she goes ape when she knows we are going training. It really seems like she knows that the birds in the trials are "different"? Maybe its because in the trials she gets to retr...
