From a point-ability standpoint, nothing, *NOTHING* comes close to a Winchester Model 12. My old man couldn't agree with you more. He has a decent collection of them, maybe 10 or so. He thinks the Model 12 is nearly as close to perfection man has ever come (almost as close as 90 ft between bases).

That is awesome man, congrats. I was just thinking about you guys and wondering how you did. Amazing that such a quality dog came out of that kennel/breeding :P. Good idea. I have one that I think is a classic and a surefire winner in some contests, but is not suitable for a G-rated site like this. I will see if I can get some new footage this month!

Funny, I thought exactly the same thing. My 44 lb V eats a 40 lb bag of Pro Plan Performance roughly monthly. And everyone who sees him that isn't familiar with gun dogs asks me why I don't feed him  .

Maybe it was a bad quote.

I only smoke about 4 or 5 times a month, give or take (more during football season). The gasser gets probably 3 times the work. I must say the BBQ guru makes a big difference in the convenience. There is still the 45 minute start-up time, but it will run steady for at least 6 hours. I am fortunate t...

Couldn't agree more with kumate on the WSM. I still use mine at least monthly for smaller cooks. Best BBQ bang for your buck by a long shot IMO. They are truly set-and-forget. By the way, I am planning to build a version of a stumps clone (albeit with a simple charcoal tray rather than the gravity f...

They are charcoal. The ball valve in the picture is for air intake. But I don't use it - I prefer the BBQ Guru. It offers the most precise control, and is network compatible :D . It also has the ability to magnify those undesirable recessive genes. There are a myriad of examples i...

I believe people can make things work if they are really committed. Things that you are possibly (if not likely) to go through in the next 10-12 years: 1. ...
