Re: They finally caught him. Roysetters

Quill, I think UJ caters to a very select group. It is VERY heavily moderated and as a result some very, very, good threads get post holed before they have been given the chance to ever fully develop. There is rarely any useful training info posted there. It is mainly a social board. But, it's Brad...

I am not as concerned about how the dog hit it's point as I am as to it handled the bird till the handler gets there and all that means is the bird still there or not. If we didn't breed dogs outside the standard Crow's Little Joe never would have been breed. Look at the placements by his offspring, from NSTRA to AA. I would agree to some extend. English setters in the AKC are pretty dogs but I probably would not own a "dual" english setter - not athletic enough for me - they have a tendency to run slow and lopey to me.

I don't know much about Shorthair lines, but picking for looks isn't dumb, I don't want to look at an ugly dog.

Do you want a bigger running dog? That's really the biggest question I don't see an answer too.

Like Ezzy said. You can't judge people.

I know many homeowners who have given up dogs. We're currently renting because a situation came up where it makes a lot more sense for us for a while. I've eaten eggs and potatoes for a week so our dogs could have quality food.

If a dog doesn't point a stocked bird it is because you have taught it not too.
