Re: chasiing wild flushed birds
i think letting a young dogs chase birds is good. it builds up the desire to hunt and find birds. also builds up his expsosure around birds so that when you do start stop to flush training with a collar pup now knows that the shock is not related to the bird since he has built up the desire already....

ones mans treasure is another mans junk. i live in houston and i am sure this is where to go for snipe. but i have no interest in them since pointers and snipes dont work together. at least from what i was told.

those of you who have multi dogs what do you do to keep your normal vet bills and routine medication affordable? such as i read some people use ivermecton or zimectrin instead of heartgard or interceptor. what about flea and tick medicine other than frontline plus? vet visits do you do the annual ph...

it was the original formula. 25/15. its not the only off season food that worked. the original canidae was good too. i left him on the original eagle pack blue bag for a while while beginning my working him and increased to 4 cups a day but he was skin and bones so i tried the nutrisource. i can see...

Re: dog losing weight on high performance food
I don't believe a dog who eats his stools and others has anything to do with being hungry. I wouldn't use that behave as a sign of being hungry. Many dogs do that.[/quote]
then what does it mean. obviously he is not getting what he needs from his normal intake

how about this. increase his food a 1/2 cup at a time until he looks better or his stools change. whatever comes first. sounds like a 52 pound dog eating 4 cups a day is already a bit high but its all i can think of to go to 4 1/2 cups

I don't have an answer, but I do find a question. if the Eagle Pak is working in the "offseason" why do you switch the dog off of it...will he not maintain on it ? The other question i have is does the dog look unhealthy when it loses weight when he's being worked or is he just getting in better sh...

here is my 2 cents for what its worth. when you start working your dog on wild birds its a whole new ballgame. wild birds will really put the fire in your dogs eyes. so reinforcing whoa will be alot different. for me i use an e collar. while training i can use a setting on 2. but with wild birds i h...
