Re: Doing the Brittany dual thing....
Thanks everyone! Misty Moo's brother, Forrest, is our next show ring project. He just returned from a few months of field training down south, but won't be broke until the summer, so we're going to try to get him finished too. Forrest currently has a 4 point specialty major from the Bred By class an...

Thanks for the info. This guy really hasn't left the house/yard in months, and he really isn't a poop eater. We were away for the weekend, but we've been gradually switching Courage over to the grain-free holistic food Tessa eats (Earthborne). He's half & half right now and actually seems a little better. There is a 2nd bill that would make it illegal to crate dog between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. in NY also....which would mean you couldn't travel with a dog safely crated between those hours either.

We pay $4.50 a bale (around 50 lbs) of a grass mix hay. We feed 1/2 bale per horse, and they both came through the winter looking good.
For that $4.50/bale, it's delivered and stacked in our hay shed (we have 50-60 bales delivered at a time).

So much depends on the rescue coordinator in your state. Here's what I'd suggest. Volunteer to foster. Then pick one of your fo...

We have 7 Brittanys ranging in age from 16 months to 13 yrs old.
They're all house dogs, although we have a "dog room" in our basement where they all stay when we're not home and to sleep. It has crates for everyone and dog doors to the yard, so they can come and go all day.

Yup, ask the breeder to keep the pup until you get home.
The last litter we had the family took the pup home, and brought him back 2 weeks later for 2 weeks while they went on vacation. We knew this WAY in advance and were happy to puppy sit Hunter.
