I started looking at the prices of non toxic shot......WOW that stuff is pricey! Im going to head out to basspro and see what they have....Also what about buying shells in SD im sure they have a lot of options out there...here in GA you don't see much in the way of pheasant load.

Thanks all....I'll be there about the 3rd week so hopefully they won't be too skidish....and i will only be shooting birds that are pointed so the shoots shouldn't be to far. Greg how did those shell perform were they really dirty?

Thanks i may have to shoot steel shot....depends on how expensive hevi shot is....i will pattern it but does it shoot good through a IC choke?

What choke for 12G auto when gunning for Pheasant
I have a benelli SBE II. I'll be going to South Dakota....I now kind of wish i had bought a O/U but i can use this shotgun for anything i need. If you are hunting over pointing dogs what choke would you use? Modified?

Luke, I've used Hevi-shot on ducks and geese for the last 7 years. It definitely hits harder than steel and if I can remember, from a long time ago, better than lead. Where I was using #2 steel on ducks I've reverted to #4 and sometimes #6 on small birds like wood ducks and teal. I think 2 3/4" hig...

non toxic for pheasant...need load advice
Going to South Dakota and i have always been able to shoot lead here in GA. I shoot a 12G auto what shell would you recommend? do i want to shoot steel, hevi shot or what? I will be on public land most of the time so thats why i need non toxic

need beeper to add to my collars....
I need to get a couple of beepers....I don't have to have a remote for them and just want them to slip on my TT collars...looks like the sportdogs are the way to go. Has anyone ever had any problems with them? how is the quality and sound with their products....? Do you remmend something else compar...

with it being close to hunting season...i don't think it would be recommend to FF her unless you are not going to hunt her through out the process....while FF she has to be in a controlled environment were she is made to do what is commanded to her...

Im also taking some young dogs for their first trip on pheasants next month....I may let the dog just run for a while and flush and not shoot birds at first....if i have an option to go to a preserve and shoot a few before i leave would you recommend that?

if your feeding proplan and want to try something else...give black gold a try they have several good forumlas i switched from blackwood to it and the dogs look just as good...blackwood is very good food but just got to pricey for me.

i have received 1 back and it works great i really like it, I have shipped the other one back and hope to have it back soon....now that the bugs have been worked out i really like it....now i haven't seen a lot of other launcher but to me this very quiet and triggers fast and doesn't bother the dogs...

I take it you are hunting wild Pheasants in October. If so young dogs may have a hard time being steady with running birds, or you will be doing a lot of trying to flush birds that have left. The few wild birds I've seen in Ga have been in the nastiest clear cuts so thick you had to crawl through them and that's what I was doing tracking deer they alway run for those clear cuts

My female i starting to come in for her 2nd heat cycle she very swollen. If i have her on a CC and the other dogs up i could still work her...I have heard some say their dogs get stupid when when in season but she seems fine right now....would you do any work or just keep her up?

Yes some states allow open carry with out a license which is they way it should be...here in GA you have to have your GFL or Georgia Firearms licenses to carry concealed or open....you can go to http://opencarry.org/ to check it out....also state hunting laws will also regulate wheather you can have...

why im always carrying a side arm...if i was in Bear or lion country i would have a side arm no matter what...with you being in CA not sure if you are allowed to carry or not I hear its pretty hard to get carry license...which is ridiculous but that's another topic

i use to put reward until my friend lost his GSP in a field and had to "negotiate" to get his own dog back. $200 was the settled price. :x so i no longer put that on there. Just what i been looking for...now not to hijack put i have heard of several people putting the words "Needs Medication" on the collar....most people don't want a sick dog and they may be more ample to call you if they find it insead of keeping them.....
