He was a fun dog. My daughter loved him. She actually put a bouquet of plastic flowers between his legs like he was holding them when we buried him. It was very sweet.

I know Doug Stocks owned and ran him at Boonville. Who was running him after that. I moved out of Dougs in 04 and know he bred him alot but didnt know someone else was running him.

Tonelli's Rising Son was retired right after the 2004 NGSPA win. He is still alive and believe to be about 14 now. There is many of his get around but nothing even remotely close to him so far. IMO most dogs dont listen because they arent completly trained to do so. His prey drive should never over rule his obedience.

I agree with poudre river gundogs. IMO never use an e-collar on any dog at any age unless it understands without a doubt the command before you even put it on the dog. My teacher was Eldon Hongo. Johnny Merrell would have been great to watch and work with. His son Leroy is a good friend and competitor. Delmar Smith would be another. I like that Paul Dorian was mentioned. Another friend and very tough competitor. The list goes on.

Good thinking. Many a great dog never was allowed to acheive its potential by running to many puppy/derby. Dont ever let your dog do anything in training you would get thrown out in a broke dog stake.

Two things I was told by 2 different experienced dog guys. 1. Never let your dog do anything in training or hunting that you would get thrown out in a trial for. Switching foods is a start. Mix half and half for the first 2 days. 1/4 to 3/4 for two more days will usually keep them from getting diarrhea. I use Metronidozole for any diarrhea. Might want to put her on some antibiotics too. I use amoxicillin. Usually can get it at a feed store without a script. Look for FixMox. Its 250mg of Amoxicillin.

Try carring some Meti-Cam or Rymadyl. (Not sure on the spellings) They are both effective anti inflamitory meds. I like the Loyall feed too. Purina is to expensive but if you only have one or two dogs usually you can afford it. We pay over $40 for the ppp and about 30-35 for the Loyall here in CA. I have used many differant dog foods over the years at my kennel and I like Purina Pro Plan "Performance" the best. Especially in hunting season.
