Re: Brittany Pedigree

Since that's not any kind of certified pedigree, you don't know what titles might be in there. You can run some of the names through NSTRA and see if they placed there. Otherwise, you'll need an official AKC pedigree to tell much on titles. That pedigree is one I built off the AKC pedigree. So it i...

Re: Brittany Pedigree

There is nothing in the pedigree that shows much other than the dog has a lot of Potter breeding. None of the dogs have any titles which says they haven't been run in any kind of competion. All of this said, they may be great hunting dogs but you will have to check it out yourself. Is there anythin...

Brittany Pedigree

I was asked to possibly help train and find a home for a Brittany locally here. He is a nice dog. Just wondering if I can get any feedback on pedigree as I don't know Brittany Pedigree as GSP's are my main breed. Here is a link to pedigree:

Re: New GSP Club!

Don the point is that UKC is a different organization than AKC. Yes there are a lot of AKC clubs but there is no GSP club in UKC. And frankly I enjoy UKC a lot more than AKC. And many of their performance venues (not talking hunting) are more difficult than AKC. This club has nothing to do with AKC ...

We have been heavily involved in therapy dog work in the past. Our American Pit Bull Terriers tend to be ready for the work more quickly than our GSP's. That being said I think any dog brought up in the atmosphere and trained from the beginning to do it would be just fine. GSP or otherwise. I know m...

Can you ever feel it? Or can it be descended down? The only reason I ask is because some boys like to hide them and pull them up and then when they are relaxed they can be brought down. Until everything closes up and it can't drop down I would wait it out. I have known many male dogs who will hide o...

UKC decides their own standards. From my understanding they at times will ask breeders, judges and clubs for input on standards but the UKC themselves have the final say on what a standard is and how it is stated. Also I have been told numerous times that when it is applicable they do their best to ...

We do A LOT of dock jumping and have NEVER had an ACL injury in 7 years. We have some of the largest jumping dogs in the country as well. Dock jumping is no more difficult on a dog than hunting. And we do hunt with our dogs as well. Good structure and good conditioning do wonders for do athletes.

You have received some good advice already. But just so you know the cone degenration is tested through DNA cheek swab. And you would know if they have it by that age as it is very obvious.
